Kirby has assisted in prosecuting patents since 2005.  Kirby understands this business perspective because he was the client for many years.  He has assisted in domestic and foreign patent prosecution, portfolio development and strategy, and due diligence for start-ups through Fortune 100 companies.

 

Kirby assists the firm in various areas including radar systems, mainframe computers, mini-computer systems, storage systems, distributed computing and storage system, semiconductors (including process technology, manufacturing, design, test, packaging, system integration), optics devices, optical systems, hardware, software, wireless technology, wireline technology, error correction codes, medical devices, cryptography, mechanical devices, and network hardware and software.

 

Prior to working in law firms, Kirby had an extensive career from engineer through Vice President of Engineering with the following companies Toshiba America Electronics Corporation, Quantum Corporation, Samsung Information Systems America, and Agilent Technologies.  Kirby has also co-founded a high-tech start-up.  Kirby received his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from San Diego State University.
